College of Poetry Registering for Spring Curriculum - begins 3/20
The College of Poetry begins classes on Saturday, March 20th. They will run for 8 consecutive Saturdays, 2 hours per class with enrollment limited. The cost for each workshop is $150. The morning class (10 am - 12 pm),At Play in the Fields of Poetry: An Experiential Serieswill be taught by poet Lynn Hoins. The afternoon class (1:30 - 3:30) is entitledSurrealism and the Radical Imagination; Surrealism and Automatic Writingand will be taught by Janet Hamill. Joel Solonche, co-author of Peach Girl: Poems For a Chinese Daughter, will read Saturday Feb 20, 4 p.m.
Joel's work has been appearing in magazines, journals, and anthologies since the 1970s. These include THE AMERICAN SCHOLAR, THE NEW CRITERION, YANKEE MAGAZINE, THE JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION, THE PROGRESSIVE, SALMAGUNDI, THE HAMPDEN-SYDNEY POETRY REVIEW, POETRY NORTHWEST, POETRY EAST, THE NORTH AMERICAN REVIEW, THE LITERARY REVIEW, THE ATLANTA REVIEW, BARROW STREET, THE TENNESSEE QUARTERLY, POET LORE, THE WIDENER REVIEW, and THE ANTHOLOGY OF MAGAZINE VERSE & YEARBOOK OF AMERICAN POETRY. JOEL teaches at Orange County Community College in Middletown, NY. Read a poem by J.R. Solonche.

Poets read for Haiti Benefit.
